Open Door to Enhanced Learning is a Waterloo centre for people dealing with life's pressures and the spiritual anxieties of our world. Open Door offers therapies that aid people in finding more effective ways of addressing life's challenges. Karen offers the following therapies and learning opportunities:
Karen McKenna-Meger has over twenty years of counselling experience working with individuals, couples and groups. She specializes in Bowen Family Systems Theory and grief and loss issues. Karen is committed to helping children and has expertise in childhood bereavement, ADD/ADHD, adoption and attachment issues. Karen's experience encompasses many years experience with family challenges through her work in private practice, hospitals, hospices and a pastoral counselling centre. She is the co-founder of Community Montessori School in Fishers, Indiana. Karen's past teaching affiliations include:
As a Clinical Social Worker, Karen is licenced to practice in both the United States and Canada. She has an MSW from McGill University in addition to postgraduate training in Family Psychotherapy from Georgetown Family Center under the direction of Dr. Michael Kerr. Karen has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors for NASW-NC , BC Council for the Family and Burnaby Hospice. Karen is presently engaged in a research project involving neurofeedback therapy and Sound Therapy that is based on the work of Dr. Alfred Tomatis. Karen is an Associate of Kathleen Landry, MCS, RCC in Vancouver , BC .
